- Morton, the spoof of Horton, is depicted as an elephant, but in Dr. Seuss canon, he is Horton's elephant-bird-hybrid son from the book "Horton Hatches the Egg" and the television series, "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss".
- Additionally, Morton was a little blue mouse who was good friends with Horton in the 2008 film.
- The What-Whats somewhat resemble Sneetches.
