- Joker refers to The Green Mile, a film with the same writers and director as Shawshank.

Goofs / Nitpicks:
- The toilet flush handle is on the wall instead of the toilet.
- Despite being an Aquaman villain, Black Manta is among the prisoners in Arkham Asylum, which consists of Batman villains. The most probable reasons are because he is also a DC villain, and also because he is black, in order to fill the role of Morgan Freeman's character in "Shawshank" in the parody.
