Trivia / Info:

  • "72 virgins" is a false Muslim belief that when a true believer is martyred, they will go to paradise, where they will have 72 virgins.
  • This is one of only three Smurfs sketches where Gargamel doesn't appear. The others are Smurf Radio and Smurf Memorial Day.
  • Casey, Dimmy, Junior, Tooter, and Corky are the only "main" snorks that do not appear.
  • This is the final "Smurf" sketch to be filmed in 4:3 fullscreen.

Goofs / Nitpicks:

  • The show The Snorks takes place in a far-off ocean where the Snorks reside, while this segment suggests that the Snorks live in a river near the Smurf Village.
  • Gaileo wears glasses in The Snorks, while in this sketch he doesn't.
  • The Snorks' snorkels are presented bent in the series while this sketch presents their snorks straight up (except in one scene where the snorks are approaching from the water).
  • One Smurf claims that the entire Smurf race thought that there was only one female in the entire world (Smurfette). In The Smurfs, the Smurfs know that females exist. There was also another female Smurf - a Smurfling named Sassette (who would later appear in Not So Smurfy) and a smart and mischievous Smurf-like creature which is "Naughty" who was created by Gargamel named Vexy who is introduced in The Smurfs 2 (which was also released the same year as the previously mentioned sketch Not So Smurfy) and also the Smurf Girls of Smurfy Grove from Smurfs: The Lost Village and the 2021 CGI Smurfs TV series and Moxie in the 2025 live-action/animated reboot film. All of the original Smurfs in the original comics by Pierre "Peyo" Culliford were all male before Smurfette was eventually introduced in 1966.
  • In the TV show, Handy Smurf wore overalls but here he wears white pants like the other Smurfs.
  • Vanity is missing the flower in his ear.
  • Some Snorks seem to die multiple times in the segment.
  • The Snorks are underwater, yet they can light the fuses to the dynamite stuffed inside of the fish.
  • Deaf Smurf is well, deaf, but he seems to respond to what Papa Smurf is saying. Still, it is possible that he knows how to read lips.
