Allusions:
- This skit is a parody of The Smurfs based on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
Trivia / Info:
- The skit alludes to criticism of government response to Hurricane Katrina. Such as one scene where two Smurfs are on a roof protesting with one of them holding a sign saying "SMURF FEMA".
- Brainy Smurf's line "Papa Smurf says that the king doesn't care about blue people." is a reference to rapper Kanye West's controversial quote "George Bush doesn't care about black people."
Goofs / Nitpicks:
- Brainy Smurf says there are no more smurfs left. However, we see two smurfs on a roof (one is picked up by a bird) and another looting a TV from a store.
- Gargamel purees several smurfs but their white clothing is still intact when he goes to eat them later. Which is probably why they don't taste good.
