The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show is an animated series created by Jay Ward that ran on ABC from 1959 to 1961, and then on NBC until 1964. It primarily focuses on the misadventures of flying squirrel Rocky and his dimwitted moose friend Bullwinkle, many of which involve faux-Soviet spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale as the antagonists. Interspersed with these stories are numerous recurring segments, including "Fractured Fairy Tales", a modernized, comical retelling of classic fairy tales; "Aesop & Son", which takes a similar approach to Aesop's fables; "Dudley Do-Right of the Mounties", a send-up of turn-of-the-century melodrama films featuring the titular Mountie and his mustachioed nemesis Snidely Whiplash; "Peabody's Improbable History", in which the title dog and his boy Sherman encounter various historical figures via time travel; "Bullwinkle's Corner", in which the moose humorously acts out poems and nursery rhymes; and "Mr. Know-it-All", which features Bullwinkle trying unsuccessfully (and hilariously) to explain various concepts.
