- The episode this segment is in was made before the Japanese release of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, and since the games' Japanese release, female Pikachu's tails have a V-shaped dent. In this segment, female Pikachu have the males' tails.
- Two scenes depict Pikachu using an actual action figure. One is after Pikachu defeats Jigglypuff, the other is when Pikachu is facing Charizard.
- In the French dub, Aurelien Ringelheim reprises his role of Ash Ketchum.
Goofs / Nitpicks:
- In the Pokémon anime show, Ash doesn't keep Pikachu in a Poké Ball, as he is one of the Pokémon who do not like to be kept in Poké Balls.
- In the Pokémon anime show, Gary does not own a Charizard, but he actually owns a Blastoise instead, and a Charizard in the Pokémon anime show was meant to be owned by his trainer Ash Ketchum.
- Pikachu's limbs are too long.
- Pikachu does not have visible teeth in any official Pokémon media.
