Obi-Wan Kenobi (also known by his alias Ben) is a Jedi Master and the master of both Anakin Skywalker and Luke Skywalker, becoming the former's master after the death of Qui-Gon Jinn. Obi-Wan helps the Jedi fight in the Clone War, where his apprentice Anakin tuns to the Dark Side and becomes a Sith named Darth Vader under the mentorship of Palpatine and is one of two survivors (along with Yoda) of Order 66 that resulted in the death of every other Jedi. Obi-Wan is also responsible for Vader's disfigurement after severing both of his legs and remaining arm during a battle and leaving him for dead when he burns after touching lava. Obi-Wan delivers baby Luke to Owen and Beru Lars to protect him from the Empire and resides as a hermit in Tatooine to hide from the Empire and watch over Luke. During the rescue mission to retrieve Princess Leia, Obi-Wan engages in a lightsaber duel with Vader and sacrifices himself in order to return as a Force Ghost to continue advising Luke to become a powerful Jedi Master.
