- The thetans (souls of dead aliens) are a reference to the fact that Chef's voice actor in South Park, Isaac Hayes, was a member of the Church of Scientology. Hayes would ultimately leave the show after the episode "Trapped in the Closet", which mocked Scientology - resulting in Chef being killed off in the next season's premiere, "The Return of Chef". (Hayes would die of a stroke two years later.)
- Bob's fear of pigeons is a reference to the Bob's Burgers episode "House of 1000 Bounces", however, he already overcome his fear at the end of the episode.
- Seth Green, the co-creator of Robot Chicken, has voiced Gordon Ramsay in the MAD sketch "Kitchen Nightmares Before Christmas". It's worth noting that MAD is an animated sketch comedy series similar to Robot Chicken, albeit the former show is kid-friendly whereas the latter is for adults.
