The Kite-Eating Tree is a character from the Peanuts Franchise, a tree nutorius for destroying several of Charlie Brown's kites.
The Time of the Great Pumpkin[]
In this segment, The Kite Eating Tree plays an important part in the end of the sketch.
After Charlie Brown escapes from a murderous creature named The Great Pumpkin (who was summoned by Charlie's best friend Linus), he hides under the tree, only to be find by the Great Pumpkin. As the pumpkin prepares to eat and kill Charlie, he notices several kites lying under the tree. As Charlie exclaims "Meet the Kite-Eating Tree, you ugly son of a bitch", the kite-eating tree finally puts the Great Pumpkin's killing spree to an end by ripping off the creatures head, and then eating it. The skit then ends with Charlie sitting under the tree, watching the sunset, before cutting to hell where the deceased Peanuts characters dances with a demon to Schroeder's piano music.
