Allusions:

  • This segment is a parody of the Harry Potter books and films.
  • This segment refers to the film Swordfish and the magic lamp in Disney's Aladdin.

Trivia / Info:

  • The wizard costume Dumbledore is wearing is similar to Yen Sid's wizard costume in Walt Disney's Fantasia.
  • A Quidditch scene was originally going to be in this sketch, but was cut. It can be found in the Deleted Scenes section of the Robot Chicken Season 2 DVD.

Goofs / Nitpicks:

  • Dumbledore claims to be played by a different actor in every movie, but only three actors (the late great Richard Harris, the late great Michael Gambon and Jude Law) have portrayed him over the course of 8 movies and the two Fantastic Beasts movies.
  • Hermione's hair is brown and bushy, not red as in the sketch.
  • Dumbledore said that the rubbing stone could only be used 3 times each day. However the stone only worked twice before Harry said the stone was chaffing. It could have been because of the stone's age or that it probably wasn't used in a while.
  • In Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Scabbers's real identity is Peter Pettigrew and changed back into him during the third film and third book and was considered a pure evil villain, but in this sketch, he is still Scabbers and wasn't considered pure evil yet, making him in this sketch delusional still as he grabs Weasley's leg.
  • It's impossible for Draco to bring the Sorting Hat to the Great Hall, as it usually sits in the Headmaster's office. Also, the Sorting Hat is only needed for the Sorting Ceremony before it is returned to the Headmaster's office.
  • There are five teachers shown eating in the Great Hall, but there's actually more than five teachers throughout the books and movies that sit at the staff table at the Great Hall.
  • Some students are wearing solid red ties hinting that they are in Gryffindor, but Gryffindor house ties are not solid red. They are red and gold striped.
  • Students from their own house can only sit at their house tables (e.g., Gryffindor students only sit at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall).
  • Ginny is a year younger than Harry, Ron and Hermione, as she started her Hogwarts education in the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. So, even if she is in Gryffindor, she cannot be in the same class as Harry, Ron and Hermione.
  • While it is correct that Ginny had a crush on Harry, Harry was polite to her, not disgusted as shown in the sketch. Also, Ginny was pretty looking in the books and films, not ugly looking as shown in the sketch. Plus, Harry married Ginny after the events of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
