Han Solo is a pilot, smuggler and a close friend of the Wookiee Chewbacca, who pilots the Millennium Falcon with Chewbacca. Han is hired by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker to transport them on his ship needing the money to pay off a debt he owes to crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Han helps Luke rescue Leia and departs after collecting his payment but returns to help Luke destroy the Death Star and becomes an integral member of the Rebel Alliance. Han begins to develop feelings for Leia who initally rebuffs him due to his arrogant and cocky nature but she also returns feelings for him. Han is notably frozen in carbonite by Vader and delivered to Jabba by Boba Fett but he is saved after being rescued through the efforts of Luke, Lando, and Leia.
