Frasier is an American sitcom that aired on NBC from 1993 to 2004. A spin-off of the sitcom Cheers, the series follows psychiatrist Dr. Frasier Crane as he returns to his hometown of Seattle, Washington. He begrudgingly takes in his father Martin, a down-to-earth former police officer who must walk with a cane because of a hip injury, as well as Martin's Jack Russell terrier Eddie. Other characters include Frasier's stuffy psychiatrist brother Niles; Martin's eccentric live-in physical therapist Daphne Moon, on whom Niles develops a crush; and Roz Doyle, the producer of the call-in radio program that Frasier hosts.

The show's humor frequently stems from interactions between the characters, particularly clashes between the upscale and cultured Frasier and Niles and the more pop culture-oriented characters they encounter. The show was highly acclaimed by both critics and audiences during its run, winning a record 37 Primetime Emmy awards, include five consecutive awards for Outstanding Comedy Series.
