Segment Summary: Optimus Prime faces an enemy worse than the Decepticons - advanced prostate cancer.

Themes: Bodily Functions, Bug Eyes, Continued, Death, Destruction, Doctors, Film, Motor Vehicles, Real Toys, Restrooms, Robots, Television

Allusions:

  • This segment is a parody of the TV Show, Transformers. It may also be a parody of Optimus Prime's (in)famous death scene in The Transformers: The Movie.
  • Optimus Prime's line, "Using the whole fist, doc?" is from the film Fletch.
  • The end of the segment serves as a standard television Public Service Announcement.
  • Prowl, Jazz, Ironhide, Ratchet, and Bumblebee are all sporting their Marvel comic-accurate colors.

Trivia / Info:

  • Continued in It Burns When I Pee.
  • All Transformers segments that features Transformers toys from Hasbro.
  • The crew used the Prime figure from the Robot Masters toy line. But at the end, for the Public Service Announcement, they used the Masterpiece Prime.
  • Peter Cullen was approached about reprising his role as Optimus Prime for the sketch, but rejected the offer. According to the DVD commentary, Cullen took his role as Prime very seriously and didn't want to do anything to make fun of the character, which the Robot Chicken crew said they respected.
  • The sketch is one of first (and few) to use computer generated mouths as opposed to the usual paper mouths.
  • The figures used for Ironhide and Ratchet are apparently custom-made, since their G1 toy robot modes didn't resemble their cartoon counterparts. While Arcee had no corresponding figure of her G1 incarnation at the time of production. Jazz also appears to be a custom, probably since his G1 toy (like many others) was not articulated enough for the sketch. His figure is a heavily modified from a G1 Hot Rod figure.
  • This segment marks the first appearance of the Bug Eyes being used on characters.
  • The figure used for Bumblebee appears to be grafted together from two different Bumblebee toys: the body is that of his original toy, while the head comes from the Classic Pretenders version.
  • Megatron's figure is his Action Master Figure due to his G1 toy looking weird.

Goofs / Nitpicks:

  • When Optimus is "dying" in the hospital, the scene starts with his IV drip attached to his right arm. In all subsequent scenes within the same sequence, it's attached to the left arm.
  • Prowl is out of character in this sketch, as he is generally portrayed as humorless.
  • Jazz is missing his black color accents and his visor.
  • Transformers don't transform into coffins when they die. Their color just simply fades to dark monochrome.
  • The transition music is different compared to the one in the cartoon, likely to avoid copyright infringement.
