Anakin Skywalker is a Jedi Knight during the Clone War, the former apprentice to Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Chosen One of Jedi lore. When he had visions that his secret wife, Padmé Amidala would die in childbirth, he turned to the dark side after being promised by Palpatine the powers to save her from death. Palpatine named him Darth Vader and ordered him to slaughter the Jedi at the Jedi Temple and the Separatist Council. Padmé died after giving birth to Leia and Luke Skywalker. After losing both legs and his left arm, Vader was burned so severely by Kenobi that he had to have a life support suit to keep him alive. 23 years later, he was redeemed by the love of his son, destroying Palpatine and brought balance to the Force.
